Standard Porta Potties in Lakewood, OH
The standard unit is the single plastic stall most people picture. It is the workhorse of picnics, ball fields, market days and yard parties, and it is what most planners order first.
Inside the Stall
- A seat set over a sealed waste tank
- A small urinal on the side wall
- A roll holder, often with a spare roll
- A roof vent that pulls odor up and out
- A door lock with an occupied sign
Some companies add a sanitizer pump on the wall. Ask for one when you book if your guests will not have a sink nearby.
Plan the Layout
- Off to the side and downwind. Keep units away from the food tent and the head table, but in plain sight.
- On level ground. A tilted unit rocks, and the door may not latch.
- Near a lane for the truck. The driver has to back up close to drop it off, service it and pick it up.
- In a row, not scattered. A cluster is easier for guests to find and easier to service.
- Lit after dark. For evening events, hang a string of lights near the units or set out a lantern.
Cleaning and Restocking
For a one-day event, the unit usually arrives clean and stocked and leaves at the end. For a festival that runs several days or a weekly market, ask the company about a service visit between days. That visit normally means pumping the tank, wiping down the inside and adding paper.
